Your Local Residents’ Associations – a great
place to meet and share ideas Dulwich Going Greener was invited to meet
the Court Lane Neighbourhood Watch Group. We shared our vision and our activities and it was extremely well received. The
feedback was ‘we wished we had known all about you earlier…’ So on that note please make an offer
to your local residents association that we would like to meet your group and share the Dulwich Going Greener story and our
activities going forward. Please contact julietfilose@hotmail.co.uk to set up. julietfilose@hotmail.co.uk to set up. Food Group Our next meeting is on Wednesday
16th July from 7pm at Herne Hill Methodist Hall at the junction of Half Moon Lane and Village Way, where there will
be a chance to get stuck in at our new plot. Also, if people want more information or to join the mailing list, they can call
Christine Haigh on 07870 577934 or email at yippeee333@yahoo.co.uk yippeee333@yahoo.co.uk Are you a green person? Would you be interested
in sparing a couple of hours to take part in a focus group aimed at understanding what makes people act on environmental issues?
Researchers from the University of Surrey will be holding the focus group in Central London on the afternoon of Saturday
19th July and are looking for two more participants. The group promises to be a lively session working through a
range of tasks and discussions. There will be a small incentive payment for anyone taking part If you would like to
participate, or would like further details, please contact Tracey Bedford at t.bedford@surrey.ac.uk . t.bedford@surrey.ac.uk . Echo Action One of our work streams is the ECHO (Energy Conscious Households) Action programme - a European Union
funded project to help households reduce their energy consumption. Our monthly evening workshops have addressed energy saving
topics including heating controls, insulation, renewable energy systems and transport options. In addition to free practical
advice and a handbook of resources, we have had access to free energy saving materials. Last month we received an electrical
gadget for intelligent power management: computer and peripherals are plugged into the device and it ensures that all are
switched off when the computer is turned off. Two of the households attending have installed renewable energy systems, and
we have learned of the local challenges. Our next meeting is on 16th July when we hope to have
a talk from suppliers of solar panels. Information on grants, installation costs and on how the technology works will be available
and there will be plenty of opportunities to ask questions. For further information, contact Bruno on cornflower18@hotmail.com http://www.sustainable-energy.org.uk/site.builder/echo%20action.html Our survey – have your completed it? How
green is Dulwich? - What impact are we having
on CO2 emissions? - Does global warming really matter?

Dulwich is wonderful place to live - we want it to stay that way! Of all the things
we do to protect Dulwich, the most important is to reduce waste and uncessary fuel consumption. This is essential
if we are to cut the amount of CO2 being released into the atmosphere. If scientists are right, we should all
be trying to adopt a 'lower carbon lifestyle' - and it now seems that there is some urgency about making this change.
Inspired by the beauty of our local South London landscape?
Glad to live in a thriving, safe and well cared for community?
So are we - join us and take action now to protect Dulwich for the future.

"The solution to the problem of global warming depends on both
individual and collective actions. It needs us all to make some changes in our habits, sometimes at little or no personal
cost, and it requires governments, with our support and encouragement, to make major policy decisions."
